Collaborative Law

The Collaborative Process is a peaceful way to resolve family matters such as divorce, custody, and parenting plans. The Collaborative Process is a voluntary process in which parties, with the assistance of Collaboratively-trained professionals, work together with the goal of reaching a settlement on fair and equitable terms without the financial and emotional costs that often accompany litigation.

Through the Collaborative Process, the parties choose to resolve the issues in their family law matter in a mutually beneficial way, outside of the court system. The parties are empowered to make their own decisions and customize the terms of an agreement based upon their particular needs and interests. Each party has a Collaboratively-trained attorney and typically other professionals such as mental health and financial experts who all work together as a team to facilitate the parties reaching an agreement.

The Collaborative Process is reasonable and affordable and meets the needs in our community. The opportunity to collaboratively resolve disputes will strengthen our community by examining how to better handle conflict.
